Just got braces extremely tightened, anything to help relieve pain?

I just got my braces tightened in a way to move every tooth to the left, on my top jaw. It hurts like a mutherfucker (and I don’t use that word lightly). I addition, I got rubberband that are much tighter than my last ones, and they said I should not take them out for anything, unless they break, and maybe to eat (told me try not to). I’ve taken motrin and I’m laying on the couch. It is unbearable, what can I do to help relieve the pain?!?
