My husband and I have been together for three years and we usually celebrate with dinner and small gifts for eachother and we also buy our daughter a small valentine’s stuffed animal but last May my husband cheated on me and just as I was beginning to deal with it and move on he betrayed my trust again by asking another girl for her number and telling her he was not married. My husband is bipolar and has a lot of unresolved issues, that is part of the reason why he looks for the “easy way out” when things get rough between us. Since meeting that other girl (who he did not have any sexual contact with) he has not talked to her or anything like that and I am again beginning to deal with it. The problem is I now have a lot of doubts about myself and am finding it hard to be joyful on a day made for lovers when mine has hurt me so much. I want to be happy and make our normal plans this year but I get depressed just thinking about how, in my mind, it will never be the same.
