We are trying to put laminate on 1 step going down into the family room. We got it almost done & cut the stair nose for the step at a 45* angle but it does not butt up to the other piece, it is about 1/4″ off. How do we go about measureing it and cutting the stair nose to get the correct angle? When we lay the 3 ends of the stair nose on the floor it butts up right. But when we put it on the step the corners gap. We are trying to picture frame the step. Should we cut the stair nose wood side up or down, any tricks to cutting it?? Thank You!

I came down on my 12yr old step daughter because she is letting electronics (ipod,phone,computer) comsume her life She had a friend over or she goes to a friends house almost every day to spend the night. She spends very little time with her little 5,4 yr old brother and sister. When she is at home she constantly complains that she’s bored. I laid into her saying she needs to learn to make herself happy and spend more time with the family. The next day my wife got mad at me because she said I shouldn’t disipline her without my wife around. She thinks I was being a jerk. I just want some time with just immediate family plus I think my stepdaughter will have social issues if she can’t learn to entertain herself. Yes she gets good grades.
